Donation youth suffers neurological disorder Pool company helping ...
Ervin Wible can laugh about almost anything. Even a debilitating, life-threatening disease. The 18-year-old Stafford County resident was diagnosed two years ago with paraneoplastic neurological disorder, a disease that attacked his nerves and left him unable to walk. Still, the Germanna Community College student finds humor in an otherwise devastating condition. "Just because I'm crippled doesn't mean I can't put a foot in your side," Wible joked with his girlfriend of six months, Erin Arthur. It's moments like these that help the Wible family, including mom Ginger and dad Ervin Wible III, get through the more trying times. Wible has been sick off and on over the past year, culminating in a seizure in January--his worst emergency to date.
Caterpillar Affirms 2008 Outlook
Peoria, Ill.-based Caterpillar's earnings report followed similar, good-new-, bad-news reports from other major manufacturers this month, all of them struggling at home but riding a wave of growth abroad. The company earned $975 million, or $1.50 per share, compared with $882 million, or $1.32 per share a year earlier. "Global markets for mining, energy and infrastructure development are booming," he said in a statement.

Answer: The over-payment scam is a counterfeit check scam. The scammer typically responds to an advertisement for something for sale through the classifieds or online auction and pays the seller more than the asking price of the item being sold. The scam artist then instructs the innocent seller to cash the check and either send the excess funds back to the buyer or forward the funds on to a third party. By the time the scam is detected, the funds have already been sent and the innocent seller is left owing the bank. The best way to avoid these and other scams is to use common sense and be skeptical of unusual requests. Why would someone overpay for an item and have you wire them the excess? Also, ensure a check clears your bank before sending the purchased item. Mayor wants to strip suburbs' say in merger
Herenton, who began an unprecedented fifth term in office Tuesday, said in his speech to the Kiwanis Club at The Peabody that he's putting consolidation back on the "front burner." "Yes, I'm singing out of this choir book again," he said, calling the current city-county governmental structure "wasteful." Under the traditional Tennessee approach to consolidating governments, Herenton would have to follow the legal process set out by both the Tennessee Constitution and state statute -- a countywide referendum that requires separate majority votes of residents inside the city of Memphis and those outside the city limits in Shelby County, including residents of the suburban municipalities. If consolidation wins inside the city but is rejected among Shelby voters outside the city, or vice versa, it fails to win approval.
Viewers' Comments On Randy Salerno - Part 6
Watching channel 2 is a part of my morning routine everyday. I enjoy the cohesiveness that the morning team shares. I especially enjoyed Randy, because you never knew what quick witted comment he was going to make. That's what stood out about him was his humor. Randy will be sorely missed. My heartfelt condolences to his wife & children. Also to his many family, friends and colleagues at CBS2 as well as WGN TV. It was definitely a pleasure to watched him for the short time we had him......he has left us all much to soon. GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN!!!! Still Shocked and Very Saddened, Veronica Burgess, Tinley Park, ILI don't think I ever saw Randy doing the news on TV but I did hear him on the radio.
